Home Health Care Aides – Medicaid Reimbursed Work

Home health care aides who perform Medicaid-reimbursed work within New York City and the counties of Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester should also receive both the minimum wage and a supplemental benefit for every hour of work to satisfy the total compensation required under New York’s Wage Parity Act.

The required benefit portion for home health care aides is currently $2.54 per hour in New York City and $1.67 per hour in Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties.  

The total compensation owed to home health care aides performing Medicaid-reimbursed work under the Wage Parity Act can be satisfied entirely through a payment of wages or through a combination of both wages and supplemental benefits.  The current total compensation rates are:
