Tara Chapman joined Virginia & Ambinder, LLP as a Law Clerk in 2026 and concentrates her practice on labor law, ERISA, and ERISA-related litigation.
Tara received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2025. Before joining V&A, Tara served as a Legal Intern at the National Basketball Players Association, where she assisted with the annual Basketball-Related Income audit and supported matters involving collective bargaining and player rights. She also worked as a Law Clerk at Sidley Austin LLP.
While in law school, she served as President of the University of Michigan Sports Law Society and interned with the Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons. She was also an oralist on Michigan Law's Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team, where she represented the law school at an international competition in Vienna, and participated in Michigan’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic.
Prior to attending law school, she worked as an IT Audit Associate at KPMG and obtained her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. She received her B.S. in Business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 2020, where she also competed as a Division I collegiate athlete.
