Michael Bauman

Michael Bauman became Of Counsel to Virginia & Ambinder, LLP in September 2011, specializing in ERISA litigation and complex wage and hour actions.

Prior to joining Virginia & Ambinder, LLP, Mike was a partner at Friedman & Wolf, where he represented unions and employee benefits funds in federal, state and administrative litigation from inception to trial, appeals and enforcement. He has handled cases concerning fiduciary obligations of Trustees, withdrawal liability, benefit entitlement, collection of delinquent contributions from non-signatories through alter ego, single employer, and successor ship liability, civil RICO, Antitrust, and bankruptcy. Mike has extensive experience in arbitrations, negotiations and counseling unions and multi-employer Taft-Hartley and non-Taft-Hartley funds.

Mike has written and spoken on a variety of issues related to labor and employee benefits law and has earned the "AV" rating from the Martindale-Hubbell legal directory, the highest rating awarded. Mike is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations Alumni Association and a Member of the Community Advisory Board of New York Public Radio.

Mike received his LL.M the New York University School of Law, and his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. During law school, Mike was the production editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal. Mike received his B.S. from Cornell University, majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations.
